Leigh Ann Barker
Leigh Ann was born and raised in Texas, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, focusing on social work and sociology. She later earned her graduate degree in Occupational Therapy from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. She has experience in inpatient, outpatient, and acute hospital settings working with stroke, TBI, cardiac, orthopedic, and post-surgical patients.
Leigh Ann moved to Alaska in 2018 following a passion for pediatrics and a love of travel and adventure. Leigh Ann has pediatric experience in an outpatient setting, which includes both aquatic and equine therapeutic interventions. She enjoys working with all diagnoses, with interest for further experience and continuing education in sensory processing disorders, PTSD and trauma in children, and learning sign language for improved communication skills with non-verbal children with ASD. She enjoys working with the pediatric population for both the challenges and the amazing rewards of each success.
Leigh Ann enjoys photography, travel, reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends. Although she is a true Texan, she does admit that an Alaskan summer can’t be beat!
